Josh's Photo Session
We went to California for a few photography sessions. One of the sessions we did was for Josh’s Mission Picture (the one for submitting his paperwork), combined with his Senior pictures, along with some pictures of him and his woman, Krista. There were absolutely a ball of fun to work with, along with a Josh’s brother, Mark.

Our Move
Picking up your life, and moving it to another state is daunting, but we did it. New jobs, new friends, starting our photography business over again is all a bit overwhelming, but we did it. You have to let people discover who you are, and you are busy doing the same thing. We really feel it was worth it all.

Sara and I both have experience living here in Utah, but only for a short while in our distant past. I was stationed here while I was in the army, and my Much younger wife went to university here.

It seems that since we were married, we have spent almost all of our vacations here in Utah. We finally decided that in order to go on a real vacation, we would have to move here, so we could stop coming here. Some of our dearest friends had already moved here, and we just couldn’t stand to be without them for too long of a time.

When we came on our little jaunts, we always looked for places we could live. As we traveled around places like Sandy, Orem, Taylorsville, Herriman, and Brigham City we would always say “Yes, we could live here”, but when we got to Ogden, we always felt we had come home.

Since arriving we have participated in a lot of the local activities. We went to the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo, and we had a blast.

We also attended the Pioneer Days Parade.

This week we each entered three photos into various categories at the Weber County Fair.

In her division, Sara won 1st place in Commercial / Industrial

She also won 1st place in Macro

And she won 2nd place in Scenic

In my division, I won 1st place and 2nd place in Portraiture

I also won 1st place in Commercial / Industrial

We love living here in Ogden. We wake up to incredible views every day, and wonderful people. The quality of life here is awesome!. Make time to come visit us here in Mayberry.

Making Friends with the Camera

Well, Andrew, William and I went up to an overlook on Palos Verdes Drive East, facing the Pacific, and took my motorcycle to take some pictures. It was a beautiful night. We just wanted to practice some lighting stuff.

It was amazing how a camera can get people talking together. We met some really cool bikers up there, and a nice guy that just bought a used Mercedes. Since we were working it anyway, we volunteered to shoot their toys as well, and post the better pictures here on the blog.

We are also shooting a wedding tomorrow, going to a father and son camp out with the church tonight, and I'm making my Dutch Oven cobbler and Cajun Meat and Potatoes meal. If I am smart, I will try to remember to take some pictures and post them.

Now here are the great ones of my Bike. There's something about a Valkyrie:

David Ziser
I am trying to update more often, so I thought I would mention a great seminar Sara and I went to last night. We went to the Digital Wake Up Call with David Ziser. Great ideas for doing weddings. Found a nice way of doing albums, which I think we will try this coming week.

I think it is important to continuously keep ourselves updated as photographers. I think education helps us remember what we might have forgotten, and to learn new things. I know it helps me stay sharp.

Hate to put up an entry without any pictures, so...

I thought I would post a picture of my cousin on a day he did not want his picture taken. Probably not one of my better pictures, but I Love his expression.

San Diego Cover
Again with the Chair!

Well, here is the San Diego cover and spine we shot back in December down on Coronado Island. Shoot was a lot of fun. Sara was my assistant and brain. The conditions were awful with tons of fog, but using some of the techniques I learned from David Hobby, it didn't come out completely awful.

What do you think?
